When it comes to the iconic elements of Issey Miyake,
the first thing that comes to mind is the surface treatments of the fabric,

From what I’ve seen, even these kinds of random crinkle effects
were already being used as early as the 1970s.
If an ordinary garment were in this condition,
there’s no way anyone would want to wear it.
But on Issey Miyake, it somehow looks incredible.
Issey Miyake, who created this entire way of seeing value,
was truly a genius.
